More flowers. For the fans of flowers. I really hope you can zoom in on the images like I can. So that you can see all the weird little bits inside the flowers. Madness.
The butterflies are still playing hard to get. Quite what I look like chasing those winged beasts about the Alameda Botanic Gardens is anyone’s guess, I’d hazard slightly crazy. Well slightly crazy until someone spots the camera slung around my neck and then it’s a knowing nod, or sympathetic glance. It is infuriating though. Last… Read More Ladybird ladybird…
Sorry if you guys are finding my flower posts a bit of a bore, but I miss having a garden! I am growing chillies. But a few green stems in flower pots doesn’t equal a garden in full bloom! However we aren’t exactly miles away from the Alameda Botanic Gardens, so whenever I can I… Read More I love flowers!
I am still struggling to get a decent picture of a butterfly this year. They are either in short supply or being particularly shy this summer. Normally the Alameda Botanic Gardens are packed with them, but I wonder if the rain and horrible weather we have been having has either killed them off or if… Read More Spot the butterfly…
I love these flowers. So bright, so, errr sunny looking. And now that I can zoom in on all their little working bits. Just wow. Although I will tell you this flower was crawling in little black bugs. And I didn’t notice them till after I was practically covered in them myself… 😐
Oh if only this ‘buzzing’ referred to wild parties, drinks and dancing. It does not. Instead I refer to the massive honey bees of Alameda Botantic Gardens. Flowers. So many flowers… It is the last post to do with the Alameda Botantic Gardens, well for now at least. But if you needed another reason to spend some time there, these beautiful flowers and plants should do the trick! 🙂
OK. So I don’t even know how I noticed the faint glimmer of light coming out of this tree, but I am so pleased that I did. Anyone that was in the Alameda Botanic Gardens this past week, and noticed a woman with her head stuck inside a tree, well that was me! Hi! Hope… Read More Have you ever wondered?
Now as we don’t live in the South District anymore, I don’t spend as much time in the gardens, or even just walking through them as much as I used too. But when I do get there it always relaxes me. It is just such a lovely peaceful environment. A vital lung within our increasingly congested… Read More Alameda Botanic Gardens
This week we spent an afternoon wandering around the Alameda Botanic Gardens. The weather was sunny, but not burn your face off hot. It was busy enough to make you feel like you were in on a great secret, but not so many people that you want to scream. And I had a fully charged… Read More Prickly customer
If you have the chance to go for a walk around the Botanic Gardens please do. The flowers are coming out. The birds are hopping around. There are quite a few changes happening there as well. But mostly it is all about the flowers. Ah the chance to sit among the lovely scents is not… Read More Blooming lovely!
This past week I have been cat sitting, I might have mentioned that on an earlier post. Anyway there are several routes to get to my friend’s house. All of them involve hills. Some of these hills are just gradients on the surface of the earth, but others are actual ways to kill a person.
