Architecture in Gibraltar

It has been a while, but I’ve started taking the camera back out for walks. Maybe it was my tourist weekend that inspired me? Anyway I am out and indeed about. One of the best things about Gibraltar are all of the nooks and crannies you can find, and wandering around Upper Town lets you discover new views across Gibraltar and the bay.  Also when you have a camera with an ‘Art’ function on, it is hard not to be tempted to change the ambience of a shot.

The day I took this photograph, it was already gloomy and overcast but I love what this art filter has done to it. I wish I had taken a similar shot without any bells and whistles so you could compare the difference with ease.

There is something about this clock face. For most people it’ll be the church it adorns that gets all of the attention, but from Upper Town its just the clock tower that is readily visible. I think it stands proudly above the gaggle of aerials and satellite dishes. In my head it looks a bit like someone giving a statement to the press, with that podium covered in microphones! 🙂
