This museum is directly opposite the Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares. This is another imposing and grand building, which in itself deserves a mention. This building has a more Gothic air I think. It looks semi-spooky.
It houses many relics from the surrounding area that are not just ancient but in surprisingly good condition considering they are a) Roman or Moorish and therefore very old a b) have only been dug up for a while. (OK in some cases a few hundred years, but relatively speaking ‘a while’) I find it fascinating how certain objects survive while other crumble into dust.
Anyway I love Roman ruins and things of that nature so even though it does say not to take an excessive amount of pictures in the museum (I probably did overdo my quota) I will share a few of my favourites here.
