Elliot Hotel – Rooftop Restaurant – Gibraltar

I didn’t take my camera with me when we visited this restaurant with friends, and for this I am so sorry. I missed a spectacular sunset and wasn’t able to capture the amazing views from this great place.

Well on to the important details. The food and service.

Taking the lift up to the 8th floor you step out and turn the corner and are greeted by friendly staff, who sit you (we were very lucky and got a table right next to the window) and take a drinks order. The restaurant occupies the same floor as the pool and this just makes for the most awesome background. We ordered starters and main course. I didn’t get look at the desserts menu, mostly because my first two courses were so big that I would have burst had I tried to cram in any more food.

There is a great selection of fish on the menu. I had the Tuna Steak with Thai noodles. It was phenomenal. We all enjoyed our starters and main courses. One of our friends had a chicken dish and I have to say that the presentation of all the dishes was really lovely.

The service here is beyond great. We felt very much like valued customers and everything that we could have wanted or asked for was catered for. This is a great place to visit for a special evening, such a birthday or anniversary, although the restaurant is very open (the huge windows offering amazing views will have that effect!) you do feel as though you are in your own little bubble as the tables are nicely spaced across the room.

We shall be visiting again very soon!

I have uploaded some pictures taken with my camera phone of some of our dishes. I have to say this restaurant is going straight into my top five places to eat in Gibraltar!

To eat here I would advise booking in advance, I am sure that walk ins are welcome, but given that it is a busy hotel I would ring ahead to avoid disappointment!

  1. Hey there Ms Britontherock. Really interesting review of Elliott Hotel restaurant, in your opinion does the rest of it live up to the same standard. I’m planning to come over to Gib sometime soon (been saying that for over 6 months mind) and had thought Elliotts would be a great place to stay, nice and central and reasonable rooms. I’ll let you know when I’m there, then hopefully I’ll be able to buy you and Mr Britontherock dinner whilst I’m in town.

    1. I’ve no idea what the rooms are like, but the staff have always gone above and beyond to accommodate us when we’ve been for drinks and the service in the restaurant was amazing. The pool looks lovely and in general its stands out as the place I would probably recommend as the place to stay when visiting. Friends of ours had people over from the UK recently (last weekend) and they really liked it there. They also said the breakfast was amazing!

Also dinner or drinks / coffee would be wonderful! It is always lovely to meet new people, and if you need any pointers or help just drop me a message on here. Or of you are on Facebook, I just set up a page for the blog on there. Woohooo. I am down with the kids! Haha.
